Job Description

Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee. Responsibilities Tasks Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions Address customers' complaints or concerns Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Pay and receive payments for goods Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Ensure safety procedures are followed Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses DZ class license Driver's License (Class 3 or D) Experience and specialization Documentation knowledge Accident or incident reports Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Maintenance and repair reports Trip reports Type of trucking and equipment Flatbed Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles) Communication systems experience Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Transportation/travel experience Local Provincial/territorial Regional Short-haul Additional information Security and safety Driver's validity licence check Transportation/travel information Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities Attention to detail Handling heavy loads Large workload Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Own tools/equipment Cellular phone Tools Gloves Personal suitability Flexibility Judgement Organized Reliability Hardworking Benefits Other benefits Other benefits Team building opportunities Parking available Wellness program
