POSITION TITLE:
PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGERREPORTS TO:
DIRECTOR – FLEET, LOGISTICS, MAINTENANCE (FLM)LOCATION: BIGGAR FERTILIZER TERMINAL POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Director of FLM, the Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for identifying improvement opportunities related to process efficiency and controls. The Control Manager will also ensure all company policies and procedures are followed in relation to any government regulations, inventory requirements and health and safety expectations. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:• Enhance and develop policies, procedures and service systems to meet the goals of the terminal, and customer and employee expectations• Ensure all procedures are being adhered to, and in collaboration with the Plant Assistant Manager, to ensure consistent buy-in of company-wide workforce• Closely monitor and accurately track inventory, and ensure all data is entered into the accounting system within rigorous company procedures• Coordinate logistics of incoming and outgoing loads with the various internal and external parties; retail locations, custom application and 3rd party providers• Lead by example with a hands-on approach with all aspects, duties and areas of the plant• Build client loyalty through collaborative solutions that meet customer needs and also maximize customer productivity and efficiency• Plan and action annual business goals, identifying seasonal milestones• Strive to reduce operational costs through focused process improvement activities• Other duties as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• High School graduate or equivalent• College graduate with a Major in an area of Business Administration, Agriculture, Commerce, or a combination of education and years of relevant experience• 3-5 years of experience in a position within the agricultural industry, with a focus on processes and controls• Management experience in a high paced, procedure-focused work environment• Experience with modern fertilizer facility practices and methods is preferred• Budgetary experience related to forecasting and performance tracking OTHER REQUIREMENTS:• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, exceptional communication skills• Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to ensure adherence to location procedures• Ability to work closely with all levels of staff and management• Proficient in the use of computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite• Technical understanding of the agricultural fertilizer industry and plant operations• Familiar with The Rack as a company along with products/services available• Must live in or near the town of Biggar SK Interesting in joining our Team?
