Job Description

The New Brunswick Provincial Exhibition (“NBEX”) is a non-profit organization, that utilizes funds from its events to maintain and enhance facilities, community programming and champion shared agricultural heritage. Located in the heart of downtown Fredericton, NBEX showcases everything from local events and trade shows to live entertainment from all over the world including but not limited to Provincial livestock shows and regional 4-H activities. The primary goal of NBEX is to accommodate agriculture events and shows on a year-round basis. The NBEX is currently seeking an Executive Director. The OpportunityReporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director ensures the attainment of operational goals and objectives. This role involves working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach. Key responsibilities include program evaluation, fiscal management, fundraising, and effective communication. The Executive Director will oversee operations, implement policies, and maintain relationships with stakeholders, serving as the organization’s primary spokesperson. You will inspire engagement, drive program success, and support board involvement in policy decisions and visibility initiatives. Who You AreAs an ideal candidate, you will be a collaborative and strategic senior leader with extensive experience in the not-for-profit/social services sector. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of board governance and be experienced in strategic planning, including leading and managing change. This role requires a professional who excels at developing and maintaining effective relationships with community partners, government bodies and key stakeholders and who will effectively motivate internal and external teams to achieve outcomes through a collaborative and participative approach. QualificationsPost-secondary degree or equivalent. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
