Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.  Project Overview: Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.  Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source. Job Summary: The Craft Supervisor – Pipe/Pipe Testing is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the Piping discipline. You will ensure assigned construction operations and contractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. This is a FIFO role working 3:1 roster based in Karratha, WA, working night shift and day shift when the business need arises. Major Responsibilities: Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 50 craft)  Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.   Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.  Planning / Productivity  Determines workforce requirements.  Coordinates established area operational plans.   Tools, Materials & Equipment  Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.   Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.   Safety & Quality  Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.   Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.    Works with Construction Field Engineers, Leading Hands, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents  Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and  Craft Professionals.  Education and Experience Requirements: Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable. 8-10 years’ experience in similar role within the Heavy Industrial Field. Minimum 5 years’ pneumatic/hydrostatic testing experience at a Supervisory level. Flange Management, Pre-commissioning, Oil Flushing, Air Blowing, Pigging and Drying experience is an advantage. Required Knowledge and Skills: Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner. Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating sub-contractors Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience Knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME PCC-2, AS 2885, AS 2033, AS 2419 pressure testing requirements. Good mechanical understanding of various pressurisation pumps and equipment. Must be safety focused and demonstrate excellent understanding of industry standards. Additional Information This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.). The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
