As our newest Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer,you will be responsible for gaining skills and experience in maintenance and modification of the various Mechanical and Avionics systems and associated equipment, in support of attainment of an Aeroskills Diploma as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Avionics).   We have opportunities supporting the following BDA Programs:   1. AH-64 Apache and CH-47 Chinook programs in Townsville, QLD   NOTE: Applicants are to indicate in their Cover Letter which trade stream they are applying for.   No two days are the same, but here is an example of what activities you can expect to undertake during your apprenticeship: Aircraft and servicing duties Removal and installation of aircraft components Disassembly and reassembly of aircraft components Modification of aircraft components Preparation and use of aircraft support equipment Inspection, maintenance, servicing, repair and fault diagnosis of components and systems. Aircraft flight-line handling duties   In addition to the above, in order to successfully complete your apprenticeship, you will also be required to: Attend training with a Registered Training Organisation, Pass all examinations to the acceptable pass mark of the Registered Training Organisation, Maintain a detailed journal of experience to a standard acceptable to BDA and the Registered Training Organisation     Your checklist for success: Enthusiasm and passion to learn aircraft maintenance activities from experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who will mentor and guide you from day one to completion of your Diploma in Aeroskills. Mechanical, Avionics or Structural aptitude with a willingness to learn Ability to successfully interact with mentors, co-workers and management to maintain productive working relationships to meet team, business unit, and organisational goals Have the self-discipline to maintain a current work journal    Able to speak, read and write fluent English   Competence with Microsoft office suite.
