Contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities to help maintain the integrity of the financial system and protect consumers from harm.   Bring your advisory and technical leadership experience, as well as your deep knowledge of the Australian financial services industry, in this role as a Senior Specialist, to provide solutions on regulatory issues and achieve impactful outcomes across the sectors.   Sydney and Melbourne location preferred – all locations considered $147,074 - $195,951 (depending on experience) + 15.4% Superannuation Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT, 17 March 2025   The team  The Financial Advice and Investment Management team is the team primarily responsible for ASIC's role in relation to the regulation and supervision of the investment management and personal financial advice sectors.  This includes proactive engagement and the monitoring of firms and the sector overall.  The team also coordinates and provides strategic direction, industry knowledge and technical expertise for ASIC's work in these sectors.   As a Senior Specialist, you will collaborate with the Senior Leadership team to deliver strategic advice and analysis.  This role involves understanding the characteristics, behaviour and needs of financial consumers, investors, and firms and evaluating their implications for ASIC's regulatory activities. You will be responsible for: Providing strategic analysis and advice, assessing highly complex regulatory matters, and providing possible solutions on various regulatory issues. In partnership with the sector leadership team, facilitating the strategic thinking and thought process around how best to respond to emerging issues across the sectors. Managing, coordinating, and providing strategic direction, industry knowledge and technical expertise for ASIC's work in these sectors.   Identify new ways to utilise data to undertake role. Effective collection, management, analysis, and communication of insights from data. Leading the identification and implementation of effective regulatory strategies, interventions, and law reform to consumer outcomes. Working collaboratively with the Senior Executive Leader and other Senior Managers and Senior Specialists in establishing meaningful and effective stakeholder engagement and relationships across the sector.    With your demonstrated experience in advising on complex transactions or projects requiring critical thinking and judgement, as well as your experience in a leadership role, you will have the technical expertise and specialist skills to assist ASIC in providing solutions on highly complex regulatory issues and achieve impactful outcomes.  Your experience includes excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop strategic stakeholder relationships. You will also demonstrate: Deep knowledge of the Australian financial services industry generally and specifically deep understanding of the investment management sector from a regulatory, product, operations, risk or client service viewpoint. A relevant tertiary qualification.
