The team
The People, Transformation & Technology Group is responsible for delivering transformational change across ASIC through investment in people, processes and technology. Bringing together our people, digital, data and technology teams supported by our enterprise program office, this group delivers transformational change while supporting our core technology environments and our people.
Our Registry Interactions Services team and the Modernising Business Registers teams also form part of this portfolio. The Information Technology team forms part of the Transformation Office, Digital, Data & Technology which is accountable for driving ASIC's transformation agenda, including the use of digital and data products as well as providing the technology platforms.
The role
The DevOps Lead is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design solutions that align with business objectives. Additionally, the DevOps Lead will provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of AWS engineers, ensuring best practices are followed and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
You will be accountable for
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design solutions that align with business objectives
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of AWS engineers
Conduct code reviews, ensure best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Manage and prioritize tasks within an agile development environment
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
Automate deployment, scaling, and management of AWS infrastructure
Implement and enforce security best practices for AWS environments
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Proven experience as a technical lead in AWS environments
Strong proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure best practices in AWS
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to all audiences in both written and verbal formats to achieve intended purposes
Ability to effectively plan and manage projects
