Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.  Job Summary: In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s mechanical aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s mechanical aspects are met.  Major Responsibilities: Perform design of mechanical systems for materials handling including crushers, screens, conveyors, and pumps. Perform calculations and preliminary analysis leading to technical design recommendations. Preparation of material requisitions, specifications, and other procurement related documents Assist in the evaluation of suppliers and technical bid evaluations. Coordinate with mechanical designers to produce layouts for crushing plants, screening plants, conveyors, and pump stations. Experience in chute design methods, both continuum and discrete element modelling would be beneficial. Participates in the design, development and modification of mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)​  Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: computer skills including competence in MS Office suite and other common software. flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks. analytical problem-solving capabilities demonstrated skills in oral and written communication Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
