They provide comfortable, culturally safe and affordable accommodation, three meals a day and a welcoming environment for those who stay. AHL is looking for a Roving Night Attendant and a Roving Housekeeper to travel around the NT and provide relief to AHL’s hostel team. Both roles are based in the Top End and regularly travel (often at short notice) between the five Darwin hostel locations and to hostels in Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy and Katherine.  The role of a Night Attendant at an AHL hostel is to: Provide property security and ensure the safety of residents Ensure common room and grounds upkeep Monitor and authorise entrances and departures of residents, staff and visitors Respond to emergencies if required The role of a Housekeeper at an AHL hostel is to: Make sure the hostel is serviced and cleaned to a high standard Check rooms regularly for repair and maintenance requirements Ensure cleaning supplies and linen are stocked and stored appropriately  You will need to have a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and issues affecting First Nations peoples. As a Night Attendant, you ideally have experience in the security industry, but what’s really important, is that you can work as part of a team.  You will have the ability to work at night and be able to manage emergency situations. Night Attendants work overnight, generally from 7pm to 7am.
