ERA has engaged the global engineering firm, Bechtel, to support ERA as Delivery Partner for ongoing study work. Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community. Based in Brisbane, as the Procurement Specialist, you will perform tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders. You will prepare bidders’ lists, qualify bidders, form bid packages, issue bid requests, participate in negotiations, recommend commitments, secure approvals, communicate with suppliers and monitor supplier performance. Your efforts are to ensure potential and current suppliers comply with purchase order requirements and provide the required service and results to meet project needs.   Major Responsibilities: Develops and issues purchase orders and contracts as assigned by performing the following: Prepare bidders’ lists and pre-qualify bidders, Communicate with Engineering to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment and to achieve the understanding needed to process these requisitions, Form bid request packages and issue bid request packages to approved bidders, Coordinate bidders’ questions and provide answers to those questions, Receive bids and evaluate bids commercially, Other responsibilities as designated Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a University Graduate with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of business administration procedures, techniques, and business ethics. Experience in the formation or administration of purchase orders or contracts. Skilled in working with and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with other project functional groups, primarily Engineering, Construction, Project Management and other services.
