Electrical Engineer interview questions
Interviewer: Good morning/afternoon, thank you for coming in today. Can you begin by telling me a little about your educational background and how you became interested in electrical engineering?
Candidate: Yes, of course. I received my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from XYZ University and then went on to obtain my Master's degree from ABC University. During my undergraduate studies, I was drawn to the field of electrical engineering because of the limitless potential for innovation and the impact that those innovations can have on society.
Interviewer: Great. Can you provide an example of a project you worked on in the past and how you contributed to its success?
Candidate: Sure. One project I worked on was the design and development of a new electronic control system for a production line. My role was to design and test the circuitry for the control board. I was able to make significant improvements to the circuitry which resulted in improved performance and reduced costs for the company.
Interviewer: Excellent. Can you walk me through your problem-solving process when faced with a challenging project or situation?
Candidate: When encountering a challenging situation or project, I begin by thoroughly researching the problem and gathering as much information as possible. I then break down the problem into smaller components and evaluate each component individually to identify the root cause. From there, I develop a plan to address the problem and execute that plan while continuously monitoring and adjusting as necessary.
